What are the benefits to advocating for Inclusion?
How can I or my organization benefit from learning about inclusion?
A positive and productive work environment
Inclusive environments create spaces where people are welcomed, understood and celebrated. When people are celebrated and understood, they will be more productive in the workplace. More productivity can mean more success for the organization.
Increasing connections with others at work and home
Inclusive environments can improve staff relationships. Understanding one another can increase more meaningful discussions and improve connections in the workplace. Improved connected can mean increased opportunities for innovation.
Reduces stereotypes and bias
Inclusive environments can help discourage stereotypes about people. Stereotypes are harmful and promote misunderstanding of diverse social identities. Employees can authentically learn about their colleagues.
Improved organizational reputation
Attraction and retention of talented professionals
Hiring top talent and keeping top talent require inclusive environments. Keeping top talent will improve the organization’s reputation as a space that people want to remain. Top professional talent can be attracted to work environments where they are understood and where their skills are acknowledged.
My Approach
Inclusion requires learning, self-reflection, and intentional participation. I use the term “engagement” in lieu of “training” because “engagement” requires a person’s intentional involvement. I understand “training” as a unidirectional teaching approach. Engagement means that participants take ownership over their own learning and development.
My approach to inclusion is centered around Grace, Learning, and Accountability. As a woman of faith, Grace means kindness, compassion, and mercy. Inclusion requires grace. Learning means, participants agree that there is knowledge they do not have that they may need. Accountability means that in spite of grace, participants learn to take responsibility for their own decisions and actions, accept consequences, and commit to eliminating harmful choices.
How It Works
Schedule a 1:1
The 1 on 1 meeting is an opportunity for me to introduce myself and to begin to understand you and your organization. The initial meeting will also be used to identify goals and needs of the organization or individual.
Choose an Engagement Plan
Individual and organizational plans are available. Single sessions are available as well as ongoing. Virtual and in person options are available.
Engagement & Assessment
Before the engagement, I will collect data from participants on their knowledge around inclusion. After the engagement session, I will collect feedback from participants to understand impact.
